Get ready to spice up your workday and celebrate Cinco de Mayo with the Hispanic & Latino Employee Resource Group!
Cinco de Mayo, often confused with Mexican Independence Day, actually commemorates the Mexican Army’s remarkable defense of Puebla in 1862. On the other hand, Mexican Independence Day, celebrated on September 16th, marks Mexico’s freedom from Spanish rule in 1821. These two occasions hold distinct significance and provide opportunities to honor Mexican culture and history through festivities, food, music, and dance.
Join us in the café at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, May 8th, for a vibrant afternoon filled with agua frescas, tasty snacks, music, trivia, and an engaging video that delves into the history of Cinco de Mayo.
Our Hispanic & Latino Employee Resource Group is committed to celebrating and promoting the rich diversity of all Hispanic cultures. Let’s come together, enjoy good food, and learn more about this vibrant holiday!
All are welcomed to join in the festivities and share their culinary creations! Don’t miss out on the chance to celebrate cultural heritage, foster community, and enjoy a lively atmosphere in the office.
